Fausta Tistarelli's Olive Oil among the “Excellences of Tuscany”
Stazione Leopolda, Florence – March 8–9, 2025
Luigi Caricato writes and publishes on his YouTube channel Olio Officina:
In a picturesque village in the province of Siena, surrounded by olive groves steeped in history and tradition, a family has been devoted to olive oil production since 1968. Today, it is Fausta Tistarelli who leads the family-run mill, bringing passion, expertise, and deep respect for her roots.
Tistarelli’s extra virgin olive oil is crafted from a blend of native olive varieties – Frantoio, Correggiolo, Moraiolo, Leccino, and Pendolino – each contributing to the unique identity of this Tuscan land. Every olive, every drop, tells a story of place and heritage.
A testament to the quality of her work was her recent participation in “Eccellenza di Toscana”, the prestigious event organized by AIS Toscana (Italian Sommelier Association of Tuscany), held at Florence’s historic Stazione Leopolda.
Olive oil took center stage at the event thanks to the “Oleoteca di Olio Officina”, where guests could join tasting workshops led by renowned oleologist Luigi Caricato, in collaboration with some of Tuscany’s finest producers.
The interview was conducted by AIS professional sommelier Luca Marchiani, winner of the 2025 Chianti Classico Master, and the video production was curated by Miriana Cecchi on behalf of AIS Toscana.
